Kellie Greene’s FEC Report Demonstrates Full Disclosure

April 13, 2012

Sackets Harbor, NY – Republican candidate Kellie Greene announced today that she had filed her FEC campaign finance reports despite requirements stating that she is exempt from the mandatory requirement.

“My campaign is committed to full disclosure of our financial status even when federal law affords us the ability of not having to do so,” Greene said. FEC requirements are triggered when a candidate exceed a $5,000 threshold in donations.

Greene’s financial reports showed total donations in the amount of $3,545 and expenditures of $2,473 with $1,071 cash on hand at the end of the reporting period which ended March 31st. Greene’s campaign brought in 51 total donations from 46 unique donors at an average donation of $61/donor (excluding Greene’s personal donations) with the vast majority of the donations coming from within the district.

In the eight weeks since Greene announced, the campaign has focused almost all of its efforts meeting with voters and developing a grassroots network across the district. “Honestly, we have not been obsessed with fundraising,” Greene said. “The citizens of this district are hurting financially and their sacrifice to my campaign is far greater than any of the big money flowing to my opponent from his Wall Street cronies and D.C. insiders,” she said. “This race is not about who can raise the most money and buy the most endorsements, it’s about who will represent the people of New York 21,” Greene concluded.

With the deadline for petitions on Monday, Greene will finalize qualifying for the ballot by submitting the required number of signatures. The campaign will continue to meet with voters but will begin increasing fundraising efforts to complement its grassroots campaign strategy.
